North McCarran Crossing is a large neighborhood commercial project with varying entities at a major intersection in north Reno, NV. ¬†Concerned with mitigating both the steep site and adjacent residential concerns, a public hearing process was instituted and stakeholders’ needs were met successfully.

Balancing sophistication with the unrefined nature of the context, visual interest with straightforwardness, and commercial with adjacent residential, North McCarran Crossing brings a distinctive attitude to what can be a mundane typology: the strip center.  The two retail buildings with their varied facades provide an identity for each tenant while holding to a cohesive composition and theme.

Green elements:

  • Lower building height in lieu of typology (reduced material usage)
